Bathroom Shelves - Introduction
There are all kinds of bathroom shelves on the market, and knowing which one you want is a lot harder than knowing which one you need. However, what you need is significantly more important in the long run than what you want.
There's so much to say about bathroom shelves that I don't know where to start! I'm planning to make this site into a resource for great bathroom shelves -- do you need shelves? (Of course you do!) Do you want shelves? Where should you get your selves? How do you install your shelves? My intent is to answer all of those questions about bathroom shelves and more.
Bathroom shelves run the gamut from glass to steel and everywhere in between. Personally, I'm partial to satin nickel and wood, specifically bathroom shelves that are multi-functional, such as shelves combined with towel racks, or shelves that are also cabinets.
A large part of the process of figuring out what bathroom shelves you need in your bathroom is simply the process of quantifying how you use your bathroom and how you want your bathroom to feel when you walk into it. If you want a spa retreat in your own home, you'll probably end up going with white painted wickers filled with fluffy white towels and sleek pale blue tinted glass shelves.
Then again, maybe your definition of spa retreat isn't quite the same as mine.
Whatever style you decide on, don't let your emotions choose your bathroom shelves and cabinets for you. If you do, you're liable to end up with pretty shelves (do doubt), but highly useless bathroom shelving.
Great bathroom shelves
What can I say about bathroom shelves? So much so that instead of having a single article's worth of information I've built an entire website about them. How amazing.
I have several favorite kinds of bathroom shelves.
A single open glass shelf or a set of them adds class and sophistication to a bathroom, along with a spa-like tranquility. Of course, the rest of the room and fixtures do matter, but adding this kind of bathroom shelf can act as that finishing touch.
Wooden bathroom shelves can fit it with many types of decor, including country, chic, and classical/traditional.
By stacking three or four levels of shelving, you can create a substitute linen closet. This is handy for the do it yourself person or someone who prefers to buy premade shelves. If you want to do it yourself, just use pretty painted wood brackets or shaped metal brackets and put a board across them. Several levels of these can create tons of bathroom shelf space.
of course, this is by far an incomplete list of the types of bathroom shelves available, but I have written more about them in another article on this site. Find out more about the types of bathroom shelves here.
